Sanjay Sakaria
My love with the camera began as an 18-year-old when my elder sister bought a Zenith SLR. The equipment fascinated me the moment I set eyes on it. It was the era of black & white then. We made a small makeshift dark room at our place and hence began my romance with the art of photography.
I started capturing almost anything I could set my eyes on. From the scenic panorama around my home to the portraits of my family members, I clicked anything and everything.
By the time I reached college, my passion for photography had grown beyond a hobby, and I seriously wanted to pursue it as a profession. After completing my graduation in 1983, I decided to take the leap from an amateur to a professional.
To understand the nuances of professional photography, I joined a local daily as a photographer. Since then it has been 30 years in this profession and I can feel that photography is in my veins. During these years, I have worked with some of the biggest names in the media including Dainik Jagran, the Observer Group, Probe & Maya Magazine and Amar Ujala. For the past ten years, I am working with India’s most popular Business magazine BW Businessworld as Deputy Photo Editor.
During this long and incredible journey, I have earned credits for shooting the who’s who of business, political & social sectors. I love shooting corporate profiles, industries and whatever interesting comes my way.
